Selection of Students
Issues centre on concepts of trainee development, in particular whether they have shown continuity and progression in developing their own understanding art, to organising art activities for others. They should be able to provide evidence of having contributed to evaluation & assessment and planning & further development of schemes of work or course/project planning.

Students should be aware of the importance and function of practical workshops in art and design within Initial Teacher Training courses (Ref: Prentice, 'Workshops in art and design PGCE courses', in, Learning to Teach Art and Design.) They should show an interest in designing, targeting and staging opportunities for raising standards of attainment in schools and in the higher education institution respectively, especially in relation to each other's development.
