Join stage designer Ruth Paton and programme manager Sandra Dartnell to discover and discuss the opportunities for oracy that spring from facilitating professional design process in the primary classroom.
Create & Design is the Royal Opera House's hands-on design skills programme that supports pupils', creative problem-solving, develops empathy, builds careers understanding and connections between STEM and the arts .
- With no prior knowledge of ballet, opera or design required, Create & Designsupports teachers to develop students’ design thinking using the process designers take to bring a story from the page to the stage.
- Create & Design is supported by CPD which aims to increase teacher confidence to deliver the Art, Craft & Design and Design & Technology curriculums in schools across England.
- By taking part in the Create & Design, teachers learn how to facilitate students’ creativity, as they work through the research, exploration, and development of original ideas to meet a design brief set by The Royal Ballet or the Royal Opera.
