Vega Brennan lectures on the PGCE course at the University of Cumbria, and has over 20 years’ experience working in the arts, art education, art practice.
She is particularly interested in how to grow the ecology of rural arts, working with schools, communities and local and national arts organisations. Her art practice involves printmaking, using the medium to subvert norms about value and inviting her audiences to play and reflect.
Vega will be describing how a tongue-in-cheek Artistic Licence gives learners the confidence to embody the role of artists. She will talk about Fluxus and her own art practice which involves print and ephemera. She will share her thoughts on how small interventions can be influential and powerful.
There will be a bit of making involved so have a pen or pencil and a bit of paper ready.
