NSEAD statement on the riots and violence in our communities

We stand in solidarity and send our heartfelt condolences to the victims of the anti-migrant and racist violence experienced across the UK.

We will always place community, kindness and compassion at the heart of our work and actions and will always strive for a society united in peace. As a union, learned society and professional body, we stand united with every community and individual, every Muslim and  asylum seeker, who has been affected by violence. We are united in our collective hope for peace.

'Amidst the violent and racist disorder seen across England and Northern Ireland, we have also seen acts of bravery and courage where whole communities have striven to gain peace and calm. No child, young person, no learner or teacher should live in the UK and feel unsafe.'
