In this project we see how children can learn about the body through the work of sculptor Antony Gormley. By Debbie Webster
Antony Gormley’s major installation, Critical Mass, incorporates body forms cast in twelve different postures and situated on the floor, ceiling and walls of the exhibition space, encouraging the viewer to experience what the artist has described as our ‘inherent emotional engagement with the body’. But how would a primary teacher be able to share Gormley’s work with confidence and an enlightenment that would engage young children?
