Creative ESOL

In this presentation, Natalie Parfitt shares a Creative ESOL course for women who are new to the UK, some have moved here as partners of refugees and some are alone.

Abstract

I have been developing a Creative ESOL course for women who are new to the UK, some have moved here as partners of refugees and some are alone.

It’s about using art and creativity to help develop confidence and English language skills, to set personal goals, and to learn assertive phrases – the long term plan is to have the work in an exhibition to promote inclusion/ integration but also to raise awareness about some of the difficulties they face around being fobbed off.
