This resource provides ideas for whole school or departmental CPD to improve teachers' confidence when drawing.
Are you hoping to offer whole school or departmental CPD? Want to improve teachers' confidence when drawing? This PowerPoint, with presenter notes, will help you to build teacher confidence in using visual language. In two hours, the presentation aims to move teachers away from the mantra: 'I can't draw' to, 'I can draw'.
Created for primary school teachers (and secondary departments too) the presentation will take you through a series of slides and exercises to explain the purpose of drawing: for Perception (e.g. to explore feelings or to reflect on an experience); for Communication (to share information); and for Invention (to work out problems or generate ideas). It is also hoped that after this training, your staff team will better understand that it is not what is drawn, but why we draw that matters, and, by learning to draw for purpose, 'We CAN all draw!'
