Using computers, art elements and view finder to explore create abstract paintings
Show the children large format reproductions of abstract art: Look for examples where line, shape or colour are dominant features. For example, Kandinsky's work is very accessible for young children. Discuss the images with the children. Ask the children what they can see. Make a list of all their ideas. You could also ask the children, "How does the painting make you feel?" Look at the unit 'talk about a painting'.
